Business Development Manager

Full-time £56,000 37.5 hours per week

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage potential clients for business advisory, IT consulting, and business support services
  • Conduct comprehensive research to identify new markets, business opportunities, and emerging trends relevant to business advisory, IT consulting, and operational support services
  • Liaise with Directors to determine the types of services to offer and expand into
  • Serve as the primary point of contact during initial client engagement and onboarding
  • Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the company’s expansion and revenue goals
  • Analyse competitors and sector developments to inform strategic planning and service development
  • Identify, engage, and secure new clients across target sectors and regions
  • Work with senior management to prioritise target markets, services, and clients
  • Assist in the recruitment of new staff and training sessions
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business and referrals
  • Prepare tailored proposals, pitches, and presentations for potential clients
  • Conduct market research to ensure you are up to date with competitors
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, leads, and opportunities in the company CRM system

Key Skills and experience required:

  • A degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, Marketing, or a related field is preferred
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management, preferably within professional services, consulting, or advisory sectors
  • Ability to analyse markets, identify opportunities, and develop effective business growth strategies
  • Strong ability to build and maintain client relationships, negotiate contracts, and communicate effectively
  • Understanding of digital marketing, sales analytics, and client management software is advantageous
